A sure sign that spring has arrived in our beautiful mountain area is that first breath-taking sight of a redbud tree with it's bright bloom of purple flowers, standing out for all the world to see. It was this very sight that inspired me to include in my designs the native flowers and greenery of our mountain trees and plants as much as I can when appropriate for my customers and the occasion.

I started working with flowers in San Luis Obispo County in 1982 while still in high school. I worked part time as a holiday help person for a wonderful young couple and before I knew it they adopted me, or maybe I adopted them. During the next several years I was given the opportunity to develop and practice my designing skills with their very upscale and growing business. Years later after having a family and relocating, I was re-inspired by a new friend. This same kind of connection gave me the opportunity for six more years of learning and loving floral design. Now I am proud to say that my own shop, Redbud Bouquet Native Floral Designs, has been in service for three years satisfying our mountain customers and city friends in all their floral needs.
