Inspired by the bounty of the north coast, our sumptuous designs make the most of individual flowers. Our role as florists is to interpret artistically, the ideas and requests of our clients. Whether it be making giant decorative structures for a lavish wedding or creating a simple tied bunch of flowers as a “thank you” gesture, we strive to offer innovative design using premium quality materials.

We are committed to using sustainably harvested, local products, whenever possible. Utilizing the abundant array of flowers and materials grown in our region provides us with fresh, seasonal choices. Our designs are personal, lush and sensual, making any occasion memorable.

We both started our young adult lives here on the Mendocino Coast, married, raised our children, baked brownies for the latest fund raiser, taught in the schools, rallied for local political issues, and after thirty years of volunteering for countless events, we continue to feel blessed to call this place home.

Being nurtured by this coastal community has greatly influenced the direction our lives have taken. Mendocino abounds with natural beauty, and we use the area as inspiration for our work. Families and a community full of artists have helped develop our creative and artistic style. A color palette learned in a watercolor class at the Art Center may inspire a flower layout. A foggy morning walk on the headlands will inspire an arrangement. A neighbor’s garden becomes fair game when her kiwi vine is enticing us with possibilities.

Our long-standing interest and passion in gardening made for a natural transition to join our talents and create Mendocino Floral Design. Our experience with various large and small events has helped develop the ability to envision an image and the skills to create a customized finished product. A community project is as important as a grand wedding, and we gladly dedicate time and energy, as our community has supported, developed and enriched each of us so much.

We are aesthetically and emotionally motivated, and having the opportunity to work with fresh local flowers and products in this spectacular place never ceases to amaze us.
